thought from karol ward

"From caring comes courage."
-Lao Tzu

For the remaining weeks left in December, I want to simply say; do the best you can. There is most likely demands on your time, your energy, your emotional reserve and psyche. And whether you are feeling happy, sad, overwhelmed or joyful during this time of year, I believe that when we are in our own corner, we have a better chance of getting through most things in life.

In my experience, doing the best you can, means showing up for yourself and the people you care about from a place of self-acceptance. You accept the days when you are wise and the days when you are at a loss. You accept the times when you are loving and the times you could have said it better. You accept the younger you that didn't have the knowledge to figure it out and the more mature you that now has the answers. You accept the fact, as I have to do quite often, that you are still learning about acceptance and there is more to discover.

A great way to tap into this place is to ask yourself:
Who is the nicest person I know?
What might they say to me when I need kindness the most?
When we can access that voice and use as a steadying presence in our lives, we will find our balance once again.
